new in: boxing day sale

Hi everyone! Hope every had a great Christmas! My Christmas was absolutely amazing and couldn't have asked for a better relaxing weekend. I wanted to go shopping after Christmas because of all the after-Christmas sales (or Boxing Day sales as some of you call it) were going on. My mom and I made an impulse decision to go to our mall after dinner to do some looking around. I wasn't sure if I was going to find anything but Zara did me well! There's a new Zara that just opened in a mall that's about 40 minutes from my house and it's definitely bigger and has more variety of selections than the Zara that's about half the time closer.

march wish list

A new type of post! Instead of monthly favorites, I've decided to do monthly wishlists. The things that I put on the wishlist will probably similar throughout the months, but we'll see ;) So far I've been keeping my eye out on a couple of items, since my birthday is in less than two months. These items are things that's been stuck in my mind.

First off is the Dr. Martens X Agyness Deyn Aggy Strap in Cherry Red Rouge. At first, I found this shoe absolutely atrocious, but after seeing people wear it and the way they styled it, it grew on me. I see this as a huge statement piece and the chunky-ness is charming.

Second, is the Mink Pink Backstage Pass Sweater. Similar to the Docs above, I found this sweater overwhelming. But I absolutely love how it's over-sized  I really wanted a fur jacket (faux) but I couldn't find the one that fits me and is everyday material. I saw this and saw how unique it is. It's like a unique alternative of a fur jacket. I'm currently keeping a tab on this (it's on sale soon!)

Third, is the Zara Close Toe Strappy Sandals. I didn't find the perfect gladiator sandals last summer and was determined to find a pair for this summer. Although this is a dark color, I feel like it'll fit perfectly for the summer. It's versatile and I could wear them in other seasons as well. I think it'll be pretty funny to have a foot tan in that pattern.

Lastly, is the Chloe Susanna Shoe. This is a far reach product for me, sadly. I've been trying to find a similar faux one becuase I just need this in my life. But, I've realized that there can't be one that's as amazing as the original. I plan to somehow save up that huge amount of money for this shoe, but until then, maybe I'll find one that's 3/4 less than the actually price.

Hope you guys liked my wishlist. It consists of lots of shoes becuase I've been feeling shoes lately. Other than jewelry, shoes are the perfect way to give pop to an outfit. Maybe for my birthday or in a possible haul, I'll have some of these items? Fingers crossed!

simplicity

Lately, I've begun to notice that my style is starting to change. I remember thinking my mom's fashion sense was too simple and that there was always something missing with her outfits. As I'm exposed to more styles and outfits, I've started to question, maybe I was in denial. Zara was a store that I thought was too "mature" for me, but now, it's my favorite store. Their clothes are so simple yet enough to turn heads. You don't always need a crazy outfit to turn heads or to stick out of the crowd. A mix of simplicity could also have the same effect, which is what I've learned. Along with my new found love for simplicity, everything I've been buying lately has been either white, grey, or black. No, I'm not depressed, and no, I don't hate colour. I actually love that bright crazy "Jeremy Scott-ness" but lately the monotones have been calling my name.

Not only that, my style has been going back to its 'tomboyness'...is that even a word? Probably not. Anyways, I remember being a huge hoodie and Vans fan, and now that Jenny is coming back but with a more sophisticated flare. I've been enjoying high-waisted leggings, Vans, and a black hoodie and to add a more mature touch, I would throw on my military jacket or my new Zara coat (which is new in stores, so go check it out! It's absolutely to die for.) Now, I have to start saving my money up for those American
Apparel disco pants and easy jeans to complete my basics.

I hope everyone is enjoying their winter break, I know I am. But sadly, I will be returning to school next Monday. But! It's going to be the end of first semester a week after that which means I'm a second semester senior! Now all I have in store for me is my college acceptance results...oh boy. In the meantime, I think I'll bust my account for even more clothes than I need. Never would I choose clothes over food, but, the time has come...clothes are just irresistible.

What have you guys been up to this break?

new in + current favorites

This isn't really an August favorites, but just some things I've been reaching to or loving this past couple of weeks.

1) One 'n Only Argan Oil Hair Treatment Spray (get yours here)
I have ombre-d hair so it's important for me to keep my ends pretty healthy and this does the job. I heard that argan oil is great for your hair so I thought I would pick this up when I went to Sally's the other day for some hair dye. It smells luxurious and it definitely gives my hair shine. It says that it leaves hair silky smooth and protects it from heat, and just as it says, it definitely makes my hair smooth. My hair doesn't feel oily and it's smooth throughout the whole day.

2) Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment (get yours here)
This has gotten a lot of hype before. I've finally given in to buying this a couple months ago. I used to use the EOS lipbalm but I felt like it didn't really give me moisturized lips. This little guy was about $23 and I decided "why not" and bought it. I looooooove it. It makes my lips smooth and gives it a little shine. I love the lemonade-like scent it has too. Definitely recommend it and definitely worth the price, at least for me.

3) Spiked Rusty Gold Necklace (from Forever 21, but I can't find it online)
This is similar to Regal Rose's spike necklace. I was going to get the Regal Rose one but I thought this was very similar and a lot cheaper. I love it! It's definitely a statement piece. I love wearing this necklace with a plain v-neck or cotton shirt and a cardigan. It gives a sophisticated look to the simple outfit.

Now, this isn't a favorite becuase I just got this yesterday! I absolutely love this. I bought this from Zara becuase I needed a jacket for the fall. I've been contemplating what kind of jacket to get and decided this one was perfect. This jacket was definitely a splurge for me and I do not regret one penny. The length is perfect and I could practically live inside it. It's so soft and comfy, I just want fall to come already so I could wear this with my Doc Marten's or booties. -jenny
