where have you been

By now, you guys probably forgot who I was since my last post was in September...3 months ago. I'm so super sorry for my lack of posts! I'm currently in my last week of my fall quarter at college and by next week I'll be back home for the holidays and winter break! I thought that I could keep updating whilst in college but I've realized that this is actually harder than it seems, haha. I've been getting used to this school and keeping up with my studies. It's odd to now be in college and have to do "grown up" things when just a few months ago, I was still a high school senior. Time sure does fly, doesn't it?

It's finally December guys! Like, you guys have no idea how excited I am. Being in Southern California, far way from home (Chicago), I definitely miss the freezing cold and the snow! But I am so stoked to go back home and soak it all in. It's odd to be able not be freezing without a scarf and boots. I don't think I've had a red nose for a while, haha. Christmas is only a short amount of days away and I think that is absolutely crazy. I swear it was just yesterday when I was still counting the days until I go home. But now....it's only a week away! I think you guys can tell that I'm super excited that it's December and almost Christmas. Christmas is definitely an amazing time of year.

I can't wait to get back in my own bed and be surrounded by my friends from high school and family. It's weird that I haven't seen my friends in three months when I've seen then everyday for the past 4 years. I definitely feel like I've grown up even thought I've only experienced college for 3 months. I think being by myself and being so far away has helped me become a stronger person and handle myself better. I was thinking about doing Blogmas, but I feel like I'm a little late. But I will definitely be going back to regular posts by next week, so stay tuned guys!

I hope everyone is having a great time at college or Uni and enjoying the awesome Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanza spirit. Winter is definitely that family/cozy time of year and I hope everyone feels the same way too! I will be back with more exciting posts :)

xx Jenny

oh so lovely

There's less than a month until I move to California! I can't believe it's already towards the end of August. I think this summer went by the fastest. My high school started school today and I'm still enjoying my summer break....it's so weird to think that. Anywho, hello everyone! I've just been enjoying my summer and relaxing with friends, you know, before they all leave. It's kind of surreal that I won't be having classes with all of them this year and won't be seeing them everyday like I used to.

I feel like I say this in every inspiration post but, my style keeps changing! But I think it's settling down...I hope, haha. I was showing my mom my Pintrest and she commented how much my style has gotten girly-er. I remember I dressed pretty boyish in middle school and elementary school. Not sure what happened between those years and now but I can't complain! I've been loving soft pinks, i.e. mauve, dark purples and dark or light greys. Anything that seems delicate and lovely, I just immediately fall in love! I want my hair to be light and delicate and braids and curls are the hairstyles I've been wearing lately. There is the occasionally blowout and that makes me feel like a goddess, haha.

I also kind of think my hair color is making me feel more girly. I had dark dark brown hair and I dyed my hair to a light brown a couple of months ago. After that, I've been reaching for more feminine colors and wanting to look more..flirtatious? This sounds so odd! I absolutely love this hair color and could never think about going back to that dark hair color. I would love to go even lighter, but the maintenance is definitely hard for a college student like me. I'm getting my roots done soon and I can't wait to be freshly light brown again.

As you can tell, all of my inspiration pictures from the most recent months are all aspects of girly. Somewhat flirty but yet delicate....or am I just imagining things? Don't worry, I'll be taking more adventure pictures on my journey to California. There's also going to be a loving at the moment' post coming soon! There are so many products that have made me fall in love and I've been wanting to share them with you! Please stay tuned for that post (:

i can feel it in the air

The weather is Chicago is finally turning into normal! This week so far has either been sunny with a slight breeze or warm enough to not wear another jacket. I can feel that spring is here and summer is just around the corner. Thankfully, because my birthday is in eight more days and I wouldn't want to be brr-ing on my birthday. Although it's cliche, spring reminds me of florals and I love florals. The colors that I've been attracted to are more muted pastels, or I guess a dark toned pastel.

Greens, yellows, corals, or lavender colors but not your average pastel colors. A more dark toned, which gives the colors much more sophistication, in my opinion. If you want to know what color palette I'm talking about, I tried to use those types of colors for the pictures here. Beige is always an awesome color for spring, especially paired with a forest green.

Since I'm a high school senior, college and AP's are my main priorities at the moment. After AP's, all I have is graduation and my priority then is shopping, hanging out with friends, and updating my blog more often. What a great set of priorities to have, right? I can't believe I have only a month of school left. The workload has been incredibly 'lax lately. The teachers have assigned us homework (i.e. to "study" for AP's and our mock AP's) but y'know...who does that, haha.

Hope you guys are enjoying the spring weather and possibly the days of summer! Hopefully the Chicago weather will be consistent...but who knows, it could start snowing tomorrow. Since the weather has been amazing lately, I will try to get picture posts up and running, but until then, expect a lot of inspiration posts!
xx, Jenny

simplicity

Lately, I've begun to notice that my style is starting to change. I remember thinking my mom's fashion sense was too simple and that there was always something missing with her outfits. As I'm exposed to more styles and outfits, I've started to question, maybe I was in denial. Zara was a store that I thought was too "mature" for me, but now, it's my favorite store. Their clothes are so simple yet enough to turn heads. You don't always need a crazy outfit to turn heads or to stick out of the crowd. A mix of simplicity could also have the same effect, which is what I've learned. Along with my new found love for simplicity, everything I've been buying lately has been either white, grey, or black. No, I'm not depressed, and no, I don't hate colour. I actually love that bright crazy "Jeremy Scott-ness" but lately the monotones have been calling my name.

Not only that, my style has been going back to its 'tomboyness'...is that even a word? Probably not. Anyways, I remember being a huge hoodie and Vans fan, and now that Jenny is coming back but with a more sophisticated flare. I've been enjoying high-waisted leggings, Vans, and a black hoodie and to add a more mature touch, I would throw on my military jacket or my new Zara coat (which is new in stores, so go check it out! It's absolutely to die for.) Now, I have to start saving my money up for those American
Apparel disco pants and easy jeans to complete my basics.

I hope everyone is enjoying their winter break, I know I am. But sadly, I will be returning to school next Monday. But! It's going to be the end of first semester a week after that which means I'm a second semester senior! Now all I have in store for me is my college acceptance results...oh boy. In the meantime, I think I'll bust my account for even more clothes than I need. Never would I choose clothes over food, but, the time has come...clothes are just irresistible.

What have you guys been up to this break?

Sorry for the lack of posts. I just started school this week and it's been pretty hectic. This is just a list of pictures that I've been loving from this week, and of course, a little Tom Hardy here to spice it up haha. My next post is probably going to be either my favorite youtubers or a wishlist; we'll see how everything goes at school first. Please check back regularly! You never know when I'll update haha....oh school - jenny

dolce & gabbana ; chanel

These are runway photos from Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2012 line and Chanel Resort 2013 line. I absolutely love these two! I love the structured pieces and the color scheme of both. I heard that the trend for fall is black and gold and the other D&G pieces all are black and gold. I love the basic colours in the D&G line and how it creates that modern yet medieval-esque look. The Chanel clothes are just so cute and quirky! It's also structured like the D&G yet it's more feminine. -jenny
